Weekend of fun
On Saturday March 14th, Neal, Chris and I went out for an adventure deep, deep in the woods. okay, well it wasn't that deep. Trillium Lake was looking absolutely beautiful with all the snow up there. We cross country skied for about a quarter mile, then took off a little bit from the main trail and started to build our tower of babel in the snow. Neal was the compactor machine, and Chris was the backhoe... and I was the one warming my hands under the tree.. ha ha, well I was till they caught me. We made a HUGE mound of snow, compressed it all, then started to dig. Since we didn't get started on the trip until around 3:30 that afternoon, we ended up completing our snow cave in the dark. We didn't any time to goof off in the daylight, but I had a blast. We ate some amazing things for dinner; Instant mashed potatoes, little smokeys in BBQ sauce, Gatorade, and White Cheddar Cheese-its. They were simply delicious. Throughout the night there were little drips here and there. We had to sit up and pat the ceiling where it was happening and it usually took care of the problem.
When we went to bed we could stand on our knees, but when we woke up we couldn't. the ceiling had sagged that much. Of course we had a HUGE cave, so I guess its understandable.
