Weekend Visit

Jenny came up for the weekend! It was so nice to have her here. She stayed with some friends on Thursday night, and then she was with me at my place Friday night, and Saturday night. We got to spend a ton of time together. We went and bought some picture frames, went to IKEA, and Costco, then over to Taylor's place and played with Ella, Elliot and Greg were there also. We played Board games and Barbequed some steaks. Then on Sunday she wanted to come to church with me, that was rad, and then she had to take off back for Gold Beach on Sunday afternoon. She took Grinny down so that she can see Gold Beach again and spend some time there. I didn’t take any pictures. I’m slapping myself for that. She pointed out that I don’t have any pictures of her in my house.... oops. So next time I am with her, I need to be sure to get some pictures of her and I.
I had a great weekend with her. Looking forward to the next time I can see her. I need to plan a trip down there, I think in the spring when the weather gets nicer, Ill take my bike along, and ride up the Rogue River on a sunny day.

Mark and Susan came back from Uganda. They brought back a bag full of letters to us. I got one from Florence that was so nice. It was good to be able to hear about what they are thinking. He tells me that I am to be in charge of getting the playground built. I am looking forward to it.
I sent an email to Ssimbwa (my contractor in Uganda) asking him if he has any experience with building play structures, and if no, does he know anyone who does. We will need to use them as it will be impossible to get it done otherwise. This is a picture of Ssimbwa and his family at church on Sunday in Uganda.

The New Year

Well, its only the 8th and I am already making a new posting. I dont even know if anyone looks at this thing. I suppose Ill just keep writing in case someone wants to know. =)

Sent our Fact-finding team to Uganda today. there are 4 of them I believe; Ann Powell, Dave Hamilton, Susan and Mark Gosvener. So far, this is shaping up to be another incredible experience; we’ll be expanding the water project, upgrading and installing electrical at the orphan village, hopefully putting in a soccer field and playground equipment, and several other practical projects to improve the quality of life at the village. We may (or may not) send a small team north to Lira for a few projects there as well. We will also be doing our ministry programs with the children and mums. All in all I am totally excited and have turned in my application already, even though I am a Leader and am definatley going I still have to apply.

Lets see. Been really rainy the past couple of days. It has actually been so bad that between the rain and all the snow melting up in the Mountians somewhere, Johnson Creek has been flooding. I took the opportunity to go and check it out. I got to drive through it a few times. It was rad. The picture is of Johnson Creek and Bell in Portland heading West. It was pretty neat for me to see, but im sure terrible for some others.

Neal and Kristi Douglas had a little baby boy, he is absolutley the man. he is my little buddy. I went and visited them in the Hospital and took a few pictures for them. They are a little happy family. Neal is a full time student, and now a full time Daddy. Kristi Im sure is taking a little time off to take care of hudson, and then will go back to work, but be sure to keep them in your prayers.

Excited to see what God brings tomorrow. =)
